The Premodern Explorer’s League is a recurring Webcam event with flexible game times, organized on the Premodern Online Play facebook group. The structure is copied from the “Premodern Monthly” you probably have heard of. Formats are Premodern variants.
Every season, players have 3 weeks to play 4-7 matches within a Pod to determine Pod winners. A season starts on the 15th of each month, the group matches should be finished by the 7th of the following month. After that group phase, an Elimination round will start. Pod size and advancement depends on the amount of players in a season. Deckphotos are required of the players advancing to the Elimination round.

Premodern Brawl (Season 1: February 15th – March 14th)
Season 1 will feature Premodern Brawl:
Decks consist of 1 legendary creature as commander and 59 other cards. All cards in the deck have to match at most the color identity of your commander. A deck may not have more than one card with a unique name, except for basiclands. For example, if your commander is Jeska, Warrior Adept, your deck may consist of colorless and red cards only, but no more than one Lightning Bolt.
At the start of the game, each player puts their commander face up into the command zone. A commander can be cast from the command zone for its normal costs, plus an additional two mana for each previous time it’s been cast from the command zone this game. If your commander would be put into your library, hand, graveyard or exile from anywhere, you may return it to your command zone instead.
The banned cards are: Amulet of Quoz, Balance, Bronze Tablet, Channel, Demonic Consultation, Earthcraft, Entomb, Grim Monolith, Mana Vault, Mind Twist, Mind’s Desire, Necropotence, Rebirth, Strip Mine, Tempest Efreet, Time Spiral, Timmerian Fiends, Vampiric Tutor, Windfall, Worldgorger Dragon, Yawgmoth’s Bargain, Yawgmoth’s Will
Legal in regular Premodern, but banned here: Braids, Cabal Minion, Lin Sivvi Defiant Hero, Meddling Mage, Null Chamber, Rofellos Llanowar Emissary, Survival of the Fittest
Banned in regular Premodern, but legal here: Brainstorm, Flash, Force of Will, Goblin Recruiter, Memory Jar, Mystical Tutor, Show and Tell, Tendrils of Agony

Season 2 will feature Premodern, except the cards on the banlist are instead restricted. Ante cards stay banned. More details follow in February.
